00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:06.000
Does MB mean the same thing as Mb?

00:00:06.000 --> 00:00:13.000
The capital letter changes the unit.

00:00:13.000 --> 00:00:18.000
Read the units before comparing.
6 bits-and-bytes basics.

00:00:18.000 --> 00:00:30.000
A byte contains eight bits
Read the unit before comparing a file size or a transfer rate.
One bit · Eight bits · One byte

00:00:30.000 --> 00:00:42.000
B commonly means bytes
File sizes are often displayed using byte-based units.
Bytes · Kilobytes · Megabytes

00:00:42.000 --> 00:00:54.000
b commonly means bits
Connection rates are often advertised in bits per second.
Bits · Megabits · Bits per second

00:00:54.000 --> 00:01:06.000
Per second describes a rate
A file size and a transfer rate are not the same measurement.
Amount of data · Time interval · Transfer rate

00:01:06.000 --> 00:01:18.000
Prefixes need a careful read
Decimal MB and binary MiB use different definitions.
MB · MiB · Displayed unit

00:01:18.000 --> 00:01:30.000
Allow for real conditions
Overheads and network conditions affect actual download time.
Actual transferred data · Network overheads · Real download result

00:01:30.000 --> 00:01:39.000
Your checklist
A byte contains eight bits · B commonly means bytes · b commonly means bits · Per second describes a rate · Prefixes need a careful read · Allow for real conditions

00:01:39.000 --> 00:01:47.000
Check the unit, then compare like with like.
