00:00:18.000 --> 00:00:30.000
Names help people find services
A domain name provides a memorable way to address a service.
Domain name · Memorable address · Website service

00:00:30.000 --> 00:00:42.000
IP addresses support routing
Network communication uses addresses to reach its destination.
Network address · Destination · Communication route

00:00:42.000 --> 00:00:54.000
IPv4 and IPv6 are different
These protocol versions use different address formats.
IPv4 address · IPv6 address · Different formats

00:00:54.000 --> 00:01:06.000
DNS can connect name and address
A and AAAA records provide the relevant address mappings.
Hostname · Address record · Resolved IP address

00:01:06.000 --> 00:01:18.000
An address can serve many sites
The hostname and web-server configuration still matter.
Shared hosting address · Requested hostname · Configured website

00:01:18.000 --> 00:01:30.000
An address alone is not a test
Check the intended website name, content and HTTPS result.
Correct hostname · Expected content · Valid HTTPS connection

00:01:30.000 --> 00:01:39.000
