BLB Global Linguistics
A calm, professional one-page website for Beth Beattie, who translates and interprets from French and Spanish into English, including sensitive human rights and refugee work.
Everything a client needs, on one page
BLB Global Linguistics is Beth Beattie’s translation, interpreting and editing business. Beth is based in Bath and works with clients internationally, from businesses and universities to NGOs and international organisations, and she brings an academic background in gender studies, human rights and feminist foreign policy to sensitive projects.
She needed a simple site, not a big one. We designed and built a single page that walks a visitor from who Beth is, through what she does and the fields she specialises in, to two buttons to get in touch, with a blog alongside it. We host the site and look after it too.
Clear about the work, careful with the subject
Say what she does in one line
A visitor should know within seconds that Beth works from French and Spanish into English, and how to ask her for a quote.
Trust for sensitive work
Some of Beth’s work involves testimonies and reports on gender-based violence. The site had to feel calm, careful and professional, never salesy.
Two kinds of client, one page
Businesses and universities on one side, NGOs and humanitarian organisations on the other. Both had to find their kind of work quickly.
A simple site that still says everything
A clear, confident hero
The language pairs sit in the headline, with a single Get a quote button that jumps straight to the contact section.
One page, a menu that jumps
About, Services, Specialities, Background, Sectors and Contact in the top menu, each taking the visitor straight to that part of the page.
A personal introduction
Beth introduces herself in her own words, with her own photos, so a client knows who will handle their material before they get in touch.
Four service cards
Translation, interpreting, editing and proofreading, and specialist services, each listing the kinds of document and assignment Beth takes on.
A specialist expertise band
Her trauma-informed approach and six specialist fields, from refugee protection to climate justice, set apart in their own section.
Background and sectors
Her University of Bath degrees and time living in France and Chile, then six sector cards with an icon each, from business to NGOs.
Email me and Call me
Two plain buttons in the contact section, and the Call me button rings Beth straight from a phone.
Hosted and looked after
We host the site and maintain it, with an SEO plugin managing its titles, sitemaps and structured data, and a blog ready for new posts.
Six sections, in the order a client asks
A one-page site works when each section answers the next question a visitor has. Who are you? What do you do? Can you handle my kind of material? How do I reach you?
About
Who Beth is, where she is based and how she works, in her own words.

One page that does the job of a whole site
Not sure whether one page is enough for you? Our guide to one-page or multi-page websites explains the choice.
for one of our one-page websites, depending on the job.
Working with Jersey Web was easy from start to finish. I needed a website that explained clearly what I do and reflected the care I bring to sensitive work, and they understood that straight away. Having everything on one page means a client can see my services, my specialisms and my background in one place, and it looks just as good on a phone. They host and look after the site for me, and whenever I need a change, it is done without any fuss. I would recommend them to anyone.
