West Hants Bridge School
A clear, welcoming home online for Chris Mower's bridge school: six recorded Acol bridge courses, a free preview of every lesson, and free guides for learners anywhere.
Making bridge easy to start, and easy to stick with
West Hants Bridge School is run by Chris Mower, an EBTA-accredited bridge teacher, with support from his wife Penny. His courses are the full recordings of his live Zoom classes, so people can learn at home, at their own pace, from anywhere. In the year to October 2025 he taught over 200 students of all ages and backgrounds. We designed and built a site that sells the six courses, gives every buyer their own login to watch the lessons, and lets anyone try a free preview of any lesson first. We host it and look after it too.
A site that makes a daunting game feel welcoming
A friendly, unintimidating welcome
Bridge can look daunting from the outside. The site needed to feel warm and approachable, so a complete beginner believes they really can learn it, and enjoy it.
Six courses, one clear path
Chris teaches six steps, from first hand to advanced duplicate play. Visitors had to see straight away where they fit and what to do next, without wading through jargon.
Easy for every age
Many of Chris's students are older learners, and some are new to buying online. Text, buttons and the route from buying a course to watching it had to be simple on a phone, tablet or computer.

Screens from the build
A site that turns curiosity into a first lesson
students of all ages and backgrounds taught in the past year.
Most of my students are not computer people, so the website has to be as patient as I try to be in class. It is. Anyone can watch a free preview of any lesson before they buy, the six steps are laid out so nobody has to guess where to start, and when someone emails to say they cannot find their course, I just tell them to click My Courses at the top. Jersey Web built it, host it and keep improving it, which leaves me free to get on with teaching bridge.
