Overview

A modern home for fifty years of island sport

The Jersey Sports Council has been the independent voice for sport in Jersey since 1972, acting on behalf of more than 40 affiliated clubs and associations. We designed and built a clean, modern website that brings the Council, its members, events and awards together in one welcoming place.

A closer look

Screens from the build

Jersey Sports Council homepage and latest news section in desktop browser windows
The homepage and news feed. Over fifty years of island sport had no single home online, so we built a front page that leads with what is happening now (events, announcements and the annual AGM) instead of a noticeboard that goes stale.
Jersey Sports Council homepage and club pages shown on mobile phone screens
Mobile layouts. Members check fixtures, news and club contacts from a phone far more often than a desktop, so the navigation and event listings were built to work at small sizes first.
Jersey Sports Council homepage and the directory of member sports associations
The member associations directory. More than forty affiliated clubs each get a consistent listing with their own contact details, so an islander looking for a sport can find the right club without ringing the Council first.

In the client’s words
We had over fifty years of history and nowhere sensible to put it online. Jersey Web gave us one place where clubs, events and news actually make sense to a visitor. Members find what they need without ringing us first.
