Waifs & Strays Cat Rescue
A warm, easy-to-use website for a volunteer-run cat rescue in Poole and Bournemouth: a profile for every cat, a three-step adoption journey and four simple ways to give.
A home online for a rescue that finds cats homes
Waifs & Strays Cat Rescue is a dedicated cat rescue team covering Poole and Bournemouth. Its foster carers take in abandoned and mistreated cats, help them recover from fear and trauma, and find them loving forever homes. Every cat adopted comes with five weeks of free Agria insurance.
We designed and built a site that explains how adoption works, gives every cat its own profile with an adoption form, shows off the cats that have already found homes, collects adopters’ reviews and volunteer stories, and sets out every way to support the rescue, from bank transfer to an Amazon wishlist. We host the site and look after it too.
Find cats homes, and keep the rescue going
Help cats find homes
Show people how adoption works, introduce the cats, and make it easy to ask about one, from a phone as much as a computer.
Make giving simple
A small, volunteer-run rescue depends on supporters. Every way to help, from a one-off gift to a wishlist item, had to be clear and quick.
Let the stories build trust
People adopting a cat want to know who they are dealing with. Adopters’ reviews and volunteer stories had to sit front and centre.
Everything an adopter or supporter needs
A bold adoption homepage
Adopt a cat and change a life, with a button to meet the cats and the five weeks of free Agria insurance that comes with every adoption.
A three-step adoption journey
Browse the cats, a home visit, then bring them home: the whole process explained before anyone gets in touch.
A profile for every cat
Each cat has its own page with photos, a section on age, sex, colour and who they can live with, and an Adopt form for that cat.
Our adopted cats
A gallery of cats that have found homes, from Biso and Bisi to Irn Bru, so visitors can see the rescue’s work paying off.
Adopters’ reviews
Thirteen reviews from adopters in a homepage carousel, with the longer stories opening up in full with Read more.
Bank details kept from bots
Donors tick a reCAPTCHA box before the bank details appear, so the account number is never on the page for spam bots to collect.
Stories, downloads and contact
Volunteer stories, a missing cat sheet and a cat homing advice sheet to download, and a reCAPTCHA-protected contact form on every page.
Hosted and looked after
We host the site, keep it secure and up to date, and make changes whenever the rescue needs them.
Four simple ways to support the rescue
A small rescue runs on its supporters, so the Ways to support us page sets out every option in plain steps, with nothing for a donor to work out on their own.
Bank transfer
A one-off gift, with the bank details shown once the visitor has passed a quick reCAPTCHA check.
Standing order
Plain steps for setting up a regular donation through online banking or by phone.
Amazon wishlist
Supporters send food and supplies straight to the rescue, with steps to add easyfundraising on top.
easyfundraising
Everyday shopping raises money at no extra cost, with the exact cause name so donations reach the right rescue.
Screens from the build
More cats in homes, more help for the rescue

Jersey Web gave Waifs & Strays a website that feels as warm as the work we do. People can see how adoption works, meet our cats and ask about one in a few taps, and every way to support us is set out simply, from a donation to our Amazon wishlist. They understood what a small, volunteer-run rescue needs, and they were patient and easy to work with throughout. I would recommend them to any charity or community group.
