How Jersey Web pricing works: build, hosting and what you own
Two prices, explained in under two minutes: one for building the site and one for keeping it running. The notes under the video set out what each covers, what’s separate and what you own.

The 6 parts in the video
The video opens with a question: how does Jersey Web pricing work? The answer is two prices, with no mystery: a build price for making the site, and a monthly price for keeping it running.
-
Step 1: First, the build
Builds start from £100; the job sets the quote.
The build is a one-off price for designing the site and setting it up. Three things set it: how many pages the site needs, whether it needs features such as an online shop or bookings, and how much writing and photography is involved.
A simple first website for a new business costs less than a larger site with many pages. We work out the smallest site that does the job, so you pay for the pages and features you need now, not for a package you won’t use.
-
Step 2: What you get
A practical site built around your business.
The build includes a bespoke homepage and your key business pages, a mobile-friendly, speed-conscious layout, a contact form and an SSL certificate, and launch support to get you live.
We plan the site around what customers need to know: what you do, where you work and how to reach you, with WhatsApp and click-to-call so they can get in touch from a phone. You can see finished sites in our case studies.
-
Step 3: Then, hosting
Hosting is from £20 a month to keep it running.
Every website needs hosting, whoever builds it. Ours is from £20 a month, starting from launch. It covers the server your site runs on, the SSL certificate, backups, security and software updates, ongoing maintenance and a real person to contact when you want a change.
There’s no setup fee. When you want something changed, such as new prices or opening hours, you send it by email or WhatsApp and we make the change. Our hosting page has the detail.
-
Step 4: See separate costs
Your domain and optional extras are separate.
Your domain name is paid for separately and stays registered in your name. A .je costs £49 a year direct from the Channel Isles registry (opens in a new tab), and registrars set their own prices. Our .je or .co.uk guide helps you choose an address.
Extras such as SEO or copywriting are optional, priced separately and only added if you want them.
-
Step 5: Keep what is yours
Your content and domain stay in your name.
You own your content and your domain, and there is no long contract. If you ever move on, your words, photos and domain go with you.
We register domains in our clients’ names as standard, which is what the .je registry’s good-practice rules (opens in a new tab) expect of anyone registering a domain for a customer. Ask any designer, us included, to confirm in writing that the domain and content are yours.
-
Step 6: Get a clear quote
Tell us what you need before you commit.
Apply with a few details: what you do, who your customers are and what you want the website to do. A rough idea is enough. We review applications and confirm a build after a short chat.
We suggest the smallest site that does the job, list what is included and tell you the price for the build before any work starts, so there is nothing to guess.
The two prices side by side
- The build: a one-off price, starting from £100. The pages, the features, and the words and photos involved set the quote.
- Hosting: from £20 a month, starting at launch, with no setup fee and no long contract.
- Separate: your domain name, and optional extras such as SEO or copywriting.
- Yours: your content and your domain.
Comparing us with other quotes
Ask every designer the same questions, us included: what the build costs, what hosting costs after launch, whose name the domain is in and what happens if you leave. Our guide to what a website costs in Jersey and our video on six costs to check help you compare quotes like for like.
