    Named CSS page

A named CSS page is a page type defined through a named @page rule and selected with the CSS page property. It can support distinct page presentation within a paged document. Review the actual selection and output through the intended renderer; naming a page type does not by itself determine every content break.

    Also called: CSS page property

  • Design & content

    Named slot

A named slot has a name attribute. In supported named assignment, matching slot attributes on top-level host children determine their placement. Agree the content names with the maintainer and inspect the rendered result; a misspelled or unmatched content assignment should not silently become approval of the intended customer information.

    Also called: Named HTML slot

    NaN

NaN is a JavaScript numeric value representing Not-a-Number. It can result from failed numeric conversion or unsuitable arithmetic and has special comparison behaviour. For a Jersey website, have the maintainer identify how unusable numeric results are detected and handled, then review useful feedback and receiving state before the feature relies on a quantity or calculation.

    Also called: Not-a-Number

  • Google & local

    NAP

NAP stands for name, address and phone number in local-business information. Keep the details accurate wherever they appear so customers can contact the right business. A Jersey service-area business should follow the platform’s rules about displaying an address rather than publishing a private home address unnecessarily.

    Also called: name address phone

  • Websites & hosting

    NAT

NAT means network address translation. It maps relevant network addresses, and sometimes ports, as traffic crosses a configured boundary. An arrangement can let devices using internal addresses communicate through an external address. NAT is separate from application permission and encryption, so review the actual connectivity and security controls.

    Also called: Network address translation

    Negative DNS caching

Negative DNS caching retains eligible negative lookup answers, such as information that a queried name or record type does not exist, for a relevant period. It differs from caching a successful address response. Ask the DNS maintainer to consider the exact response and caching context when a newly added name is not yet resolving.

    Also called: DNS negative caching

  • Websites & hosting

    Network switch

A network switch connects devices within a network and forwards relevant traffic between them. Its capabilities depend on the equipment and configuration. It has a different role from an ordinary router connecting networks, so identify which device and maintained service path are involved before diagnosing a connection problem.

  • Websites & hosting

    Network tunnel

A network tunnel carries encapsulated traffic through another network or protocol arrangement. Tunnelling and encryption are distinct concepts: the protection depends on the particular implementation. Review the endpoints, supported traffic and permissions instead of assuming that any tunnel provides a complete secure remote-access service.

    Newsletter

A newsletter is a recurring message sent to subscribers, often by email, with news or useful updates. State what people will receive and let them unsubscribe easily. For a small Jersey business, a short relevant update can be more useful than frequent messages written only to meet a schedule.

    Also called: email newsletter

    Node child nodes

Node.childNodes provides a live list of child nodes, including elements, text and comments. Source whitespace can also produce text nodes. Review the actual node kinds the feature expects, rather than assume that the first child is always a visible element or that every list item represents a customer-facing control.

    Also called: Node.childNodes

  • Design & content

    Node contains

Node.contains() checks whether the supplied node is contained within the current node, including the node itself. It describes a DOM relationship. Review what the feature does with that result and keep its business meaning explicit; containment alone does not establish identity, permission or completion of a customer action.

    Also called: Node.contains()

  • Design & content

    Node parent element

Node.parentElement refers to the current node’s parent element, or null when there is no parent element. It describes a structural relationship in the DOM. Keep that meaning clear in the feature and review absence where relevant, rather than give a page relationship a wider meaning about ownership or a stored business record.

    Also called: Node.parentElement

  • Design & content

    Node type

Node.nodeType is an integer identifying the kind of DOM node, such as an element, text or comment. It can help a script distinguish structures while processing content. Review which kinds the feature supports and inspect the actual output, so a technical classification is connected to the useful content or interaction the customer needs.

    Also called: Node.nodeType

    Node.js

Node.js is a JavaScript runtime that can run code outside the browser, including development tools and server applications. It is different from a website’s visual framework. Record the project’s supported runtime and maintenance process so a later developer can build and operate the relevant parts.

    Also called: Node

  • Design & content

    NodeList

NodeList is a collection of DOM nodes returned by relevant browser operations. Some lists are live and others are static, depending on the operation that supplied them. Ask which behaviour the feature relies on, and review changed content rather than assume that every collection updates automatically or behaves exactly like a JavaScript array.

  • SEO

    Nofollow

Nofollow is a link relationship value used to qualify certain links. Google treats qualifying attributes as hints and documents more specific sponsored and user-generated values for those cases. It is distinct from noindex and does not make a destination private or guarantee that it cannot be discovered elsewhere.

    Also called: rel nofollow

  • SEO

    Noindex

Noindex is an instruction telling a supporting search engine not to include a page or resource in its index.

    Also called: noindex tag

    Notification action

A notification action is a supported choice offered within a system notification, such as an action labelled for the user to select. The application needs appropriate handling for the selected action. Check browser support and the resulting customer journey; an action label is not proof that the intended operation completed.

    Also called: Web notification action

  • Websites & hosting

    Notification badge

A notification badge is an image used to represent a supported system notification where there is less space for its full presentation. It is separate from the notification’s main icon and from an unread-message counter. Review the actual device presentation and supported asset requirements rather than assume every platform uses the artwork identically.

    Also called: Web notification badge

  • Websites & hosting

    Notification data

Notification data is application information associated with a notification through the supported data option. Code can use it when handling an interaction, while the visible notification text is configured separately. Review what is stored and how an action uses it; attaching an order reference does not establish permission to reveal or change that order.

    Also called: Web notification data

  • Websites & hosting

    Notification icon

A notification icon is an image associated with a supported system notification. It helps identify the alert visually, but the actual platform controls its presentation. Check the configured asset and recognisability at its displayed size. It is separate from a site favicon and from the icon used for an installed web application.

    Also called: Web notification icon

  • Websites & hosting

    Notification permission

Notification permission records whether the user has allowed the current website origin to display supported system notifications. The states include granted, denied and default; an unknown default does not count as permission. Review the supported browser and the refusal journey, rather than repeatedly interrupt visitors who have not chosen to receive alerts.

    Also called: Web notification permission

  • Websites & hosting

    Notification tag

A notification tag identifies a notification so related notifications can share a tag and be replaced through supported behaviour. It can help avoid accumulating similar alerts. Review which messages should share the same identity; a tag is separate from a page’s SEO metadata or an analytics event label.

    Also called: Web notification tag

  • Websites & hosting

    Notifications API

The Notifications API lets a supported web application display system notifications outside the page’s own content area. User permission and browser support affect the experience. A Jersey business should explain the purpose, handle refusal and check the actual device presentation; permission to display an alert does not prove that a customer noticed or acted on it.

    Also called: web notifications

    npm

npm is a package manager and ecosystem used with JavaScript projects. It helps manage packages and run declared project scripts. A business website handover should retain the project configuration and explain who reviews dependencies, rather than treating a package installation as the finished release.

    NS record

An NS record identifies an authoritative nameserver for a DNS zone or delegation. It has a different role from an A record mapping a name to an IPv4 address. Before a nameserver change, identify who maintains the destination records and review the existing website, email and DNSSEC arrangements.

    Also called: Nameserver record

    Null

Null is a value used in some languages and data formats to represent an explicit absence of a value. It is distinct from an empty string or zero. Agree how the connected systems represent missing information and check that the website handles it as intended.

    Also called: null value

  • AI & new tech

    Nullish coalescing

JavaScript nullish coalescing uses its fallback operand when the first value is null or undefined, otherwise retaining that first value. Explain the fallback’s business meaning and inspect relevant missing and present data, so the feature does not silently replace an intended value or show default information as a verified record.

    Number epsilon

Number.EPSILON represents the gap between one and the next larger representable floating-point number. It helps describe JavaScript numeric precision. Have the maintainer assess any comparison tolerance for the actual values and task, rather than treat a named constant as evidence that every calculation has an appropriate precision policy.

    Also called: Number.EPSILON

    Number input

An HTML number input supports numeric quantities and relevant numeric constraints. A digit-based identifier, such as a reference, may need a different entry arrangement because its business meaning is not a quantity. Explain the information’s purpose to the maintainer and review representative values rather than select the control solely because the entry contains digits.

    Also called: input type number

  • AI & new tech

    Number is finite

Number.isFinite() checks for a Number value excluding NaN and positive or negative infinity. It establishes a numeric property. The business still needs to agree accepted bounds, units and receiving rules, so review the actual quantity and outcome before treating a finite value as suitable information for the supported operation.

    Also called: Number.isFinite()

  • AI & new tech

    Number is integer

Number.isInteger() checks whether a Number value represents an integer and rejects other value types. It does not establish the business’s accepted quantity range. Review the conversion, whole-number requirement and permitted bounds together, including useful feedback and the receiving result for a representative unsuitable entry.

    Also called: Number.isInteger()

  • AI & new tech

    Number is NaN

Number.isNaN() checks whether a supplied value is the NaN Number value. It returns false for other types rather than converting them first. Have the maintainer explain the actual conversion and checking stages, then review useful failure feedback before the feature relies on a numeric result in the customer task.

    Also called: Number.isNaN()

  • AI & new tech

    Number is safe integer

Number.isSafeInteger() checks whether a supplied Number value is a safely represented integer. Safe refers to a numeric representation property here. Ask the maintainer to assess the actual magnitude and receiving format, then review the business’s permitted quantity and wider implementation requirements before accepting the value for a customer task.

    Also called: Number.isSafeInteger()

  • AI & new tech

    Number maximum safe integer

Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER defines JavaScript Number’s upper safe-integer boundary, equal to two to the power of fifty-three minus one. Have the maintainer assess the actual magnitude and representation used by the feature. The numeric boundary is separate from the quantity the business accepts and does not establish appropriate receiving permission or task completion.

    Also called: Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER

  • AI & new tech

    Number minimum safe integer

Number.MIN_SAFE_INTEGER defines JavaScript Number’s lower safe-integer boundary, the negative of two to the power of fifty-three minus one. Keep its numeric meaning distinct from a business minimum. Have the maintainer assess precision and receiving representation, then review the permitted range and useful feedback for the application’s actual quantity.

    Also called: Number.MIN_SAFE_INTEGER

  • AI & new tech

    Number negative infinity

Number.NEGATIVE_INFINITY represents JavaScript’s negative Infinity value. Have the maintainer identify relevant non-finite conditions and the feature’s handling route. The business should review accurate feedback and receiving state, keeping an unusable numeric result distinguishable from a permitted quantity or successfully completed calculation.

    Also called: Number.NEGATIVE_INFINITY

  • AI & new tech

    Number positive infinity

Number.POSITIVE_INFINITY represents JavaScript’s positive Infinity value. It describes a numeric representation rather than an ordinary accepted business quantity. Review where the feature can produce it and how the implementation responds, including useful customer feedback and the receiving state before another operation relies on the result.

    Also called: Number.POSITIVE_INFINITY

  • AI & new tech

    Number to fixed

Number.toFixed() returns a string using fixed-point notation with the requested number of decimal places. It formats the representation. Review where the feature applies it and which value another service receives, so tidy displayed decimals are not mistaken for proof of an exact stored value or an approved calculation.

    Also called: Number.toFixed()

  • AI & new tech

    Number to precision

Number.toPrecision() returns a string representing a number with the requested significant-digit setting. Significant digits and decimal places describe different formatting requirements. Ask which rule the feature needs and inspect representative output, including what staff or another service receives before relying on the displayed representation.

    Also called: Number.toPrecision()

  • Design & content

    Numbering system

A numbering system is a system used to express numbers. Supported locale arrangements can identify a chosen system through options or Unicode locale extensions. Review the actual number-formatting operation and displayed quantities; a configured numeral system is separate from converting the underlying amount, choosing a currency or verifying the business record.

    Also called: Locale numeral system
