  • Security & legal

    OAuth

    OAuth is an authorisation framework that lets an application obtain limited access to resources through tokens, without requiring the resource owner to share their password with that application. OAuth alone does not define a complete identity-verification system. A Jersey business should review the requested access, provider, permissions and revocation process.

    Also called: OAuth 2.0

  • Security & legal

    OAuth scope

    An OAuth scope describes requested or granted access in terms defined by the provider. Scope names are not universal across services. Review the permission explanation against the integration’s actual job before approval, and ask why any wider access is needed.

    Also called: permission scope

    Object

    An object groups properties and associated behaviour in programming, with details that depend on the language. In JavaScript, properties connect names or keys to values. For a Jersey website, explain the fields, their sources and how the receiving feature checks them; grouping information into an object does not establish that the record is complete or trustworthy.

    Also called: programming object

  • AI & new tech

    Object assign

    Object.assign() copies own enumerable properties from supplied source objects into a target and returns that changed target. It does not independently deep-copy nested objects; referenced objects can remain shared. Review which target changes and what a later nested update affects before accepting a supposedly separate draft or copied record.

    Also called: Object.assign()

  • AI & new tech

    Object create

    Object.create() creates an object using a specified prototype. Creation establishes a programming structure, while its useful fields and behaviour still need an application requirement. Have the maintainer explain the resulting object and relevant inherited information, then inspect the customer or receiving outcome against the supported business task.

    Also called: Object.create()

  • AI & new tech

    Object entries

    Object.entries() returns an array of an object’s own enumerable string-keyed property pairs. Each pair contains the property name and value. Review which fields the feature includes and how it presents them, especially where internal property names need clearer customer labels or some information should be excluded from a visible summary.

    Also called: Object.entries()

  • AI & new tech

    Object freeze

    Object.freeze() restricts changes to the immediate properties of an object and returns that same object. It does not automatically freeze objects referenced inside it. Have the maintainer explain the actual mutation controls and inspect relevant nested updates, so freezing one object is not expanded into a claim that an entire business record is immutable.

    Also called: Object.freeze()

  • AI & new tech

    Object get prototype

    Object.getPrototypeOf() returns an object’s prototype. It describes a programming relationship. Ask why the feature inspects that relationship and what it does next, keeping any structural classification distinct from evidence of a trusted record, authorised caller or usable receiving information in the customer workflow.

    Also called: Object.getPrototypeOf()

  • AI & new tech

    Object has own

    Object.hasOwn() checks whether an object directly has the specified property, returning false for an inherited or absent property. Presence is one structural check. Review the actual field value and business requirement before treating an existing property as evidence of complete, suitable or trustworthy information for the customer task.

    Also called: Object.hasOwn()

  • AI & new tech

    Object is

    Object.is() compares two values using JavaScript’s same-value operation. The feature still needs an agreed business matching rule. Have the maintainer assess the actual input types and comparison behaviour, then inspect representative output before treating a technical match as evidence of equivalent business records or an authorised customer action.

    Also called: Object.is()

  • AI & new tech

    Object is extensible

    Object.isExtensible() checks whether new properties can be added to an object. It reports a programming condition. Ask how the feature uses that result and review the intended field changes, so the business can verify useful behaviour without mistaking an extensibility check for complete data validation or approved receiving information.

    Also called: Object.isExtensible()

  • AI & new tech

    Object is frozen

    Object.isFrozen() checks whether an object is frozen. Keep the scope of that check clear and have the maintainer assess the relevant nested data. A true result for one object should not be expanded into proof that a whole business record or every object it references is immutable under the feature’s requirements.

    Also called: Object.isFrozen()

  • AI & new tech

    Object is sealed

    Object.isSealed() checks whether an object is sealed. The result concerns that programming property, rather than complete business immutability. Ask what the implementation needs to establish and review the actual values and updates, so a true check is kept consistent with the feature’s supported mutation and receiving requirements.

    Also called: Object.isSealed()

  • AI & new tech

    Object keys

    Object.keys() returns an array of an object’s own enumerable string-keyed property names. It is a particular field-listing operation, rather than a guarantee of every possible property. Review the actual names used by the feature and their business meanings before accepting a generated form, summary or receiving record.

    Also called: Object.keys()

  • AI & new tech

    Object own property names

    Object.getOwnPropertyNames() lists an object’s direct string-keyed properties, including non-enumerable ones. Symbol keys are excluded. Have the maintainer explain which fields the feature needs and inspect the actual output, so a technical property list is not mistaken for an approved customer summary or every possible piece of business information.

    Also called: Object.getOwnPropertyNames()

  • AI & new tech

    Object own property symbols

    Object.getOwnPropertySymbols() returns an array of an object’s direct symbol properties. It concerns a particular kind of key. Ask how the feature uses those properties and review the actual information flow, rather than give a symbol-keyed field a wider meaning about customer identity, receiving acceptance or stored business ownership.

    Also called: Object.getOwnPropertySymbols()

  • AI & new tech

    Object prevent extensions

    Object.preventExtensions() prevents new properties from being added and prevents prototype reassignment. Its effect needs a defined role in the feature. Have the maintainer assess the actual mutation requirements and inspect relevant updates, rather than treat one structural restriction as proof that an entire record or receiving operation cannot change.

    Also called: Object.preventExtensions()

  • AI & new tech

    Object seal

    Object.seal() prevents extension and makes existing properties non-configurable, returning the same object. Existing writable values can still change. Have the maintainer explain the intended mutation controls and review relevant updates, so sealing is not expanded into a claim that every value in a business record is fixed or independently protected.

    Also called: Object.seal()

  • Websites & hosting

    Object storage

    Object storage keeps data as individually identified objects with associated metadata, commonly organised through buckets or similar service containers. A website can use it for images, documents or other stored files. The application still needs suitable access rules, delivery arrangements and recovery controls; uploading an object does not automatically make it public, backed up or available through the website.

    Also called: storage bucket

  • Design & content

    Object URL

    An object URL is a browser-generated blob URL that lets supported features refer to file-like data through a URL. It needs a managed lifecycle and should be released when the resource is no longer needed. For a Jersey business, review the preview or export it supports and use a suitable published resource when customers need a lasting website link.

    Also called: blob URL, object URLs

  • AI & new tech

    Object values

    Object.values() returns an array of an object’s own enumerable string-keyed property values. It provides those values without the paired property names. Ask how the feature preserves their intended meanings and review the output, so a list of values is not mistaken for a complete labelled customer or business record.

    Also called: Object.values()

  • Websites & hosting

    Observability

    Observability concerns understanding a system’s internal state through the information it produces, such as logs, metrics and traces. Its useful scope depends on the application and questions being investigated. A Jersey business should know what evidence is collected, who can use it and how findings lead to a practical support action.

  • Design & content

    Observation note

    An observation note records something actually seen or heard during research. It should remain distinguishable from an explanation of why it happened or a proposed design change. Keep the relevant task and context available so the team can review the evidence when forming findings.

    Also called: research observation

    Observed border box size

    ResizeObserverEntry borderBoxSize reports border-box size information in an array, with block and inline dimensions. Identify the chosen measurement and writing arrangement with the maintainer. A border-box report is separate from the content area’s size and from confirming that actual labels and actions remain readable in the resulting component.

    Also called: borderBoxSize

  • Websites & hosting

    Observed content box size

    ResizeObserverEntry contentBoxSize reports content-box size information in an array, with block and inline dimensions that follow the writing arrangement. It describes a measurement used by code rather than guarantee the content fits. Review the actual box, available space and business information before approving the resulting layout.

    Also called: contentBoxSize

  • Websites & hosting

    Observed content rectangle

    ResizeObserverEntry contentRect provides a rectangle describing the observed HTML element’s content box, or an SVG target’s bounding box. It is a size report rather than verification of readable information. Identify the actual target type and measurement route, then inspect the feature’s response with representative business content.

    Also called: contentRect

  • Websites & hosting

    Offline fallback

    An offline fallback provides an appropriate alternative when the application cannot obtain the intended online page or resource. A service worker can use a prepared cached page for this purpose. Explain what remains available and how to retry; showing a fallback does not prove that a booking, payment or form submission reached the server.

    Also called: Offline fallback page

    Ogg

    Ogg is a media container for packaging compressed streams, including arrangements with sound and video. It is separate from the codec used for each stream. Ask the supplier to identify what is actually inside the file and verify the intended player, rather than treat an Ogg extension as a complete media specification.

  • Google & local

    Online directories

    Online directories list businesses or resources, often by category and location. A suitable Jersey directory can help customers discover you and check your details. Keep listings current and use a real business website link; a directory entry is not a substitute for an accurate owned website.

    Also called: business directories

  • Marketing & social

    Open Graph

    Open Graph is a metadata format used by services to describe a shared web page, including its title, description and image. A useful preview helps people recognise the link. Different platforms may cache or render previews differently, so check the actual shared result after changing metadata.

    Also called: social sharing metadata

    Open source

    Open source software is supplied under terms that allow its source code to be used, modified and shared in ways defined by the licence.

    OpenAPI

    OpenAPI is a standard for describing HTTP APIs in a machine-readable form. A description can document operations, inputs and responses for people and tools. It is separate from implementing the service, so review whether the description matches the version actually used and verify the integration’s required behaviour.

    Also called: OpenAPI Specification

  • Security & legal

    OpenID Connect

    OpenID Connect adds an identity layer on top of OAuth 2.0. It lets an application receive supported information about an authenticated user, including an ID token. For a business sign-in connection, confirm the identity provider, validation and application permissions rather than treating any access token as proof of identity.

    Also called: OIDC

    Optional chaining

    JavaScript optional chaining can short-circuit a property access or supported call when its relevant base is null or undefined, producing undefined. It helps handle that absence. Review the actual next operation and useful feedback, so avoiding one access error is not expanded into evidence of complete information or a successful customer task.

  • Design & content

    Opus

    Opus is an audio codec designed for speech and music, including interactive and stored-media applications. It is a sound encoding rather than the name of a complete website player. Identify the actual container and delivery arrangement, listen to the approved output and check playback on the intended customer devices.

    Also called: Opus audio codec

    Order processing time

    Order processing time describes the business’s preparation period before an order is handed to the carrier, including relevant review, picking and packing. It is separate from the carrier’s transit time. Use the actual preparation workflow when setting customer expectations and identify how weekends, cutoffs or exceptional items are handled.

    Also called: Fulfilment time, Fulfillment time

  • Online selling

    Order routing

    Order routing assigns an order to fulfilment locations using a supported set of rules. In Shopify, configured rules are applied in sequence to prioritise locations. Review the actual stock, destinations and routing outcome. It differs from a carrier’s transport route and does not prove that an assigned package has been dispatched.

  • Online selling

    Order status

    An order status describes a stage or condition in the shop’s order process. Payment, fulfilment and returns can have separate statuses. Read the actual label and its meaning before taking action; an order being created or archived does not by itself establish that payment and delivery are complete.

  • SEO

    Organic vs paid traffic

    Organic traffic reaches a website through unpaid search listings; paid traffic comes through advertising. Both can bring enquiries, but they have different costs and reporting methods. A Jersey campaign should distinguish ad clicks from unpaid search visits and judge whether either produces worthwhile customer actions.

    Also called: organic traffic, paid traffic

  • Websites & hosting

    Origin server

    An origin server supplies source content or application responses behind a delivery layer such as a content delivery network. Cached requests may be answered elsewhere, while other requests reach the origin. A Jersey business should understand both parts, their maintenance responsibilities and how changes or failures affect the actual customer journey.

  • Security & legal

    Output encoding

    Output encoding represents information appropriately for its destination context so supplied data is handled as data rather than unintended executable content. HTML, attributes and other contexts need different consideration. Review the framework’s supported protections and avoid assuming one generic escaping operation is suitable everywhere a value appears.

    Also called: output escaping
